IPTV block in the new sports season of 2024 - 2025 has already taken the game to a new level. It has presented itself right at the kick-off of the first premier league match in the evening of August 16th, 2024. Almost all IPTV providers have been hit and at this very moment, there is no non-VPN solution to this. Here we will discuss the time frame to have this resolved, possible workarounds and the ultimate solutions.
Note: This Is written on August 17th, 2024. We are constantly working to find a non-VPN solution.
UPDATE: Issue resolved. Fix applied in the afternoon hours of August 17th (Last minutes of Liverpool vs Ipswich), beta testing but looks like the fix has taken effect. All clients are connected and watching without VPN.
Quick fix for the new IPTV block inside UK
Our Android IPTV application has built-in VPN which is dedicated to our users and that would be the quickest fix. You can install this on Fire Stick, Fire Cube, and Android TV/Phone/Tablet.
How does the new IPTV block work in the United Kingdom?
If you have been an IPTV user long enough, at least since 2021, you do remember how it all began to become sophisticated. ISP's started implementing some sort of a new DPI (Deep Packet Inspection) functions. It basically gathers all the communication data between their clients and public servers. Since IPTV is streamed on bare HTTP and not encrypted, they analyze the data and when IPTV-related data is detected, the ISP will block the IP address of that server. As a result, the client will not be able to communicate with that server anymore.
You might say why do you not stream it with encryption. We did, in 2021, stream the service on HTTPS but the problem is many clients love to install the service on old MAG boxes, and smart TV's like Samsung and LGTV, and when HTTPS streaming is done on them, the service stumbles into weird issues.
We found out and implemented a solution for that in 2021 and for 3 football seasons, all those measures were mitigated. This year, however, things have become a little bit upgraded by ISP's, more advanced and different.
At this moment in time, Saturday, August 17th, 2024, the new solution is being figured out and tested, not long before we can resolve this again.
How to bypass my ISP blocking IPTV in the UK?
You can fix this issue either by using our Android software which has a VPN inside, or by using a paid account from any reliable Virtual Private Network provider. We are going to name some of the well-known companies. We will also suggest the best configuration to use with your VPN to make sure it encrypts and passes data through the fastest and the most efficient way.
Fast IPTV Android application with built-in VPN
Our Android app XC-V1 has a built-in VPN which is dedicated to our streaming users. It is hardcoded inside the app so you do not need any username or password for it. With a simple flick of a switch, it will turn on and let you tackle anything stopping you from streaming our IPTV service. A full guide of our app is available here.
Paid VPN subscription from a reliable provider to bypass UK IPTV block
The first time an IPTV block in the UK happened was back in 2019. It was more like a manual method where certain companies would send out agents to lurk into systems, most getting an IPTV trial and then putting it inside a scanner software to detect servers of that provider and jail them until the end of all premier league matches, not letting clients to use that service.
It was when major VPN companies came into the picture by offering their encrypted tunnel allowing clients to stream IPTV through their encrypted tunnel without worrying about any sort of blockage.
Note: We are not sponsored by any of the following names, this article is simply for the good of the whole IPTV community.
Surfshark is one of the good ones we usually hear about when we ask IPTV users. Their servers are well managed and almost any platform is supported. They also have Wireguard protocol which is the most ideal for IPTV streaming.
ExpressVPN is an old player, well-liked as well. They are liked for a protocol they have called Lightway which is the equivalent to Wireguard but even more secure.
Cyberghost has been around enough to establish itself as a reliable provider. They support all protocols and their servers are very well managed.
PrivateInternetAccess is also used and tested by us, supports Wireguard, and works really well on all platforms.
When you subscribe to any of these providers, make sure to use Wireguard, or any equivalent, and set the server to Netherlands. This will help reach our servers better, lowering the latency to almost 5 to 10 milliseconds.
A free and unlimited VPN solution by ProtonVPN
There is also another company called Proton which is also known for its other services like mailing service. Besides that, Proton offers a very very good VPN service. Tens of thousands of servers and various protocols are provided on all platforms. It comes with a no-log policy, meaning your activity is not recorded on their servers and it is open source. Now the good news is, although their paid service is something to go for, they have a free service as well.
They claim that a secure connection is something that everyone should benefit from for free, unlimited and forever. We tested that, and it works.
A few months back, we wrote an extensive article with a full guide on how to bypass IPTV block with a free VPN, explaining how you could implement ProtonVPN free service to stream IPTV.
